10 x 25mm Metal Rotary Burr with 6mm Shank GEKO G37500

A tungsten carbide rotary burr with a rounded pointed-arch profile, designed for working hard metals. The tool is used for finishing work after welding and casting, and for precision tasks requiring the removal of excess material.

MaterialTungsten carbide
Cutting diameter10 mm
Cutting length25 mm
Shank6 mm

Technical features

Tungsten carbide

A material with a hardness of 1600-2000 HV, which allows it to machine hardened steel and other very hard materials. It ensures a long tool life even under intensive use.

Rounded pointed-arch geometry

The shape of the tool allows precise work in hard-to-reach places and when chamfering internal edges. The rounded profile prevents sharp edges from forming during machining.

Alternate cross-cut toothing

The way the teeth are arranged ensures an even distribution of cutting forces and reduced vibration. The cross-cut pattern improves chip clearance from the working area.

Wear resistance

The structure of the tungsten carbide keeps the cutting edges sharp even when machining abrasive materials. The tool does not require frequent replacement under standard conditions of use.

Applications

  • Smoothing weld seams on steel structures
  • Removing flash and risers after casting processes
  • Deburring edges after mechanical cutting
  • Chamfering the edges of steel components before assembly
  • Levelling uneven surfaces on metal parts
  • Removing rust and corrosion from steel surfaces
  • Finishing of components in the automotive industry
  • Precision work in the aerospace and shipbuilding industries

Selecting the rotation speed

The recommended rotation speed for a 10 mm tungsten carbide burr is 15,000-25,000 rpm. Lower speeds are used when machining hardened steel, higher speeds with soft metals. Too low a speed can cause the tool to gall, while too high a speed can lead to overheating and loss of sharpness.

Use and maintenance

Before starting work, check that the shank is correctly secured in the tool holder. Any play can cause axial run-out and damage the burr. During machining, it is advisable to pause every 2-3 minutes to prevent the tool from overheating.

After finishing work, clean the burr of any material residue with a wire brush or compressed air. Washing in solvents is not recommended, as these can weaken the bond between the carbide and the body. Store the tool in a dry place, protected from contact with other tools.

If the cutting edges lose their sharpness noticeably, the tool should be replaced. Attempts to sharpen tungsten carbide by workshop methods are ineffective and can damage the geometry of the burr.
