A horizontal 100-litre diaphragm pressure vessel designed for storing potable water in systems with submersible pumps and pressure sets. The carbon steel construction with a rubber diaphragm removes the need for air top-ups and protects against internal corrosion.
The rubber diaphragm inside the vessel separates the water from the air cushion. This keeps the pressure in the system constant, prevents the water from coming into contact with the vessel walls and removes the need for periodic air top-ups, as is the case with tanks that have no diaphragm.
Mounted horizontally, the vessel takes up less vertical space, which makes installation easier in rooms with limited headroom, such as cellars or plant rooms. The horizontal design provides stability without the need for additional fixing.
The body is made from carbon steel with a powder-coated finish, giving resistance to weather and moisture. Powder coating is more durable than liquid paint, which extends the service life of the vessel.
A 1" thread is the standard size in pressure systems, compatible with most domestic pumps and plumbing fittings. This makes it easier to select system components and to install them without reducers.

The rubber diaphragm divides the vessel into two chambers: water and air. As it fills, the water compresses the air cushion, increasing the pressure in the system. Once the pressure reaches the pump cut-out point, filling stops. Drawing water allows the air to expand and the pressure to drop, which starts the pump again. As a result, the pump does not run every time a tap is opened, which extends its service life.
The vessel should be installed horizontally on a stable surface or support structure. The 1" connection is joined to the system using standard threaded fittings. Before commissioning, check the pre-charge pressure in the air chamber (typically 0.2-0.3 bar below the pump cut-in pressure) and top it up through the air valve if necessary.
Maintenance involves periodically checking the pre-charge pressure (every 6-12 months) and checking the connections for leaks. Do not exceed the maximum working pressure stated by the manufacturer. If the diaphragm is damaged, it must be replaced – this is indicated by the pump cycling frequently and water escaping from the air valve.
