An impact socket with a 1/2-inch drive and 11 mm hex, designed for use with pneumatic and electric impact wrenches. The extended design provides access to fasteners in hard-to-reach places.
The standard 1/2" (12.7 mm) drive ensures compatibility with the popular impact wrenches used in automotive workshops and industry. A square drive of this size transfers enough torque to undo tightly fastened bolted joints.
The 11 mm size is one of the standard sizes in the automotive sector, used on the bolts securing suspension and brake components and engine ancillaries. The six-point profile provides a secure grip and minimises the risk of slipping.
The deep version of the socket allows work in recesses and on components partly obscured by other parts. The extra length reaches bolts sitting deep inside mounting recesses without the need to strip down the surrounding components.
Impact sockets are made from chrome-molybdenum or chrome-vanadium steel, hardened to withstand repeated impact loads. Thicker walls, compared with standard sockets, absorb the energy of impacts without cracking.

1/2" impact sockets are designed for use with pneumatic, electric and cordless impact wrenches with a 1/2-inch drive. They must not be used with torque wrenches, which require standard sockets with tightly specified tolerances.
After use, clean the socket of dirt and protect it with a thin film of anti-corrosion oil. Regular cleaning of the square drive prevents the build-up of metal dust, which can cause play and premature wear.
Replace the socket if visible cracks, deformed corners on the hex or play in the drive appear. A worn socket can damage the head of a bolt or nut, making removal more difficult.
