A hexagonal socket with a 1/2" drive, designed for loosening and tightening 12 mm bolts and nuts. Made from carbon steel with a chrome-plated finish that protects against corrosion.
A standard size used with professional torque wrenches and ratchets. The 1/2" (12.7 mm) drive is compatible with most medium- and heavy-duty workshop tools used in the automotive and industrial sectors.
The hexagonal internal shape spreads force over a larger area of the bolt head or nut, minimising the risk of rounding off the corners. The 12 mm size is a common standard in hydraulic and pneumatic installations and in brake systems.
A construction material characterised by resistance to mechanical loads and torsion. The chrome layer increases corrosion resistance and makes the tool easier to clean after contact with oils or grease.
Accurate internal and external dimensions ensure a stable fit in the ratchet drive and a secure grip on the bolt. This reduces play and the risk of damaging fasteners when working under load.

A 1/2" drive fits ratchets, torque wrenches and extension bars marked as 1/2" or 12.7 mm. Before buying, check the drive size on your tool – it is usually stamped on the ratchet body or given in the tool's technical specification.
After each use, clean the socket of dirt, oil and moisture to preserve the anti-corrosion properties of the chrome plating. Store it in a dry place, in a socket organiser or tool box.
During use, make sure the socket is fully seated on the bolt head – if it is not fitted completely, it can damage both the tool and the fastener. For seized fasteners, apply a penetrating oil and wait a few minutes before trying to loosen them.
