Professional impact socket made from chrome molybdenum steel, designed for use with pneumatic, electric and cordless impact wrenches. The short body gives access to confined working areas.
A material offering greater flexibility and impact strength than CR-V steel. It absorbs the vibration generated by impact wrenches, which prevents cracking and deformation during intensive use. It retains its mechanical properties even under repeated impact loads.
A 12.7 mm (1/2 inch) drive end – the standard in automotive and industrial workshops. Compatible with torque wrenches, ratchets and impact wrenches with the same drive. Check the square drive size of your wrench before buying.
The compact socket length allows work in areas with limited access – on wheels with narrow openings in the rims, in tightly packed mechanical assemblies or when assembling steel structures. The shorter body increases rigidity and the precision of torque transfer.
The cross hole in the drive end allows a retaining pin (locking ball) to be fitted, which prevents the socket from slipping off the wrench during use. A particularly useful feature when working vertically or overhead.

CR-V (chrome vanadium) steel is used in hand tools – it offers good hardness but limited flexibility. CR-MO (chrome molybdenum) steel contains molybdenum, which increases resistance to impact and material fatigue. In practice: CR-V sockets can crack when used intensively with impact wrenches, whereas CR-MO withstands repeated loads without damage.
Before use, check the condition of the internal 6-point profile – worn edges can damage the bolt. During use, make sure the socket is fully seated on the bolt – fitting it only part way increases the risk of rounding off the corners. After finishing the job, clean the socket of dirt and protect it against corrosion – especially after contact with road salt or chemicals.
Store the sockets in organisers or on magnetic rails to avoid mechanical damage and make size identification easier. Regularly check the condition of the drive end – excessive wear of the 1/2" square can cause play and imprecise torque transfer.
