Diamond drill bit designed for drilling holes in porcelain stoneware, ceramic tiles, porcelain and composites. The electroplated diamond layer ensures precise cutting without chipping the material. The design allows for both dry and wet drilling.
The electroplated diamond layer forms a sharp cutting edge that penetrates the structure of the material without generating mechanical stress. This prevents microcracks and chipping of the hole edge, which is important when working on hard ceramic tiles more than 8 mm thick.
The design of the drill bit requires the drill to be used in non-impact mode. Impact drilling generates vibrations that lead to cracking in the structure of the ceramic. The recommended speed of 400 rpm provides the optimum cutting speed without overheating the material.
The side hole in the drill bit body is used to clear ceramic dust and allows water cooling to be used. Wet drilling extends the service life of the diamond layer and reduces silica dust emissions. Dry drilling is also possible for short drilling cycles.
The steel body provides rigidity during drilling. This prevents distortion that could lead to an uneven hole. The electroplated coating protects the body against corrosion when working with water cooling.

Before drilling, fit the drill bit in the drill chuck and make sure that impact mode is switched off. Set the drill to a speed not exceeding 400 rpm. It is worth marking the drilling point with a cross and making a preliminary angled indentation to prevent the drill bit from slipping.
Drill with light, even pressure, without forcing the progress. Too much pressure overheats the diamond layer and shortens its service life. When wet drilling, regularly add water to the cutting point. The water dissipates heat and binds the ceramic dust.
After use, clean the drill bit of ceramic dust with a brush or compressed air. Residues of material can harden on the cutting edge and reduce the effectiveness of subsequent drilling. Store the drill bit in a dry place, protected from mechanical impact.
