1/4" Bit and Socket Ratchet YT-0331 YATO
A hand ratchet with a 1/4" drive, designed for use with screwdriver bits and sockets. The tool is fitted with a 72-tooth ratchet mechanism and a direction switch.
Technical features of the ratchet
72-tooth ratchet mechanism
The 72-tooth mechanism provides a ratchet arc of 5 degrees. This allows work in confined spaces where a full turn of the tool is not possible. The more teeth, the smaller the arc required to re-engage the mechanism.
1/4" square drive
A standard square drive measuring 6.35 mm. Compatible with 1/4" screwdriver bits and sockets with the same drive size. The drive is fitted with a spring-loaded retaining ball that stops accessories from falling out.
Direction switch
A lever for changing the direction of the ratchet mechanism. Right-hand position – tightening, left-hand position – loosening. The switch is located in the ratchet head and can be reached without changing your grip.
Ergonomic handle
The handle is designed to provide a secure grip during work. The grip surface reduces hand slip, which improves control of the tool when tightening fasteners.

Accessory compatibility
The ratchet works with all bits and sockets marked with a 1/4" size. Before buying accessories, check that they have a 1/4" square drive (6.35 mm) and not a hexagonal one. 1/4" screwdriver bits are available in slotted, Phillips and Pozidriv (PH, PZ), Torx, hex and specialist profiles.
Use and maintenance
Before starting work, check that the ratchet mechanism operates correctly and that the direction switch is positioned correctly. Bits and sockets should be seated firmly in the drive – the retaining ball must engage in the hole in the accessory.
The 1/4" ratchet is not designed for high torque. For tightening bolts and nuts that require considerable force, use 3/8" or 1/2" ratchets. Exceeding the permissible load may damage the ratchet mechanism.
The ratchet mechanism requires periodic lubrication. Machine oil or tool grease is recommended. After working in dusty or damp conditions, clean the tool and protect it against corrosion.
