Magnetic bit tips

How the impact mechanism works
The impact screwdriver does not require an electrical power supply. The mechanism is activated by pressing the handle along the axis of the tool. Choosing the right bits
The set contains three types of bits suited to different types of screw:
Slotted bits
Slotted bits 4–9 mm wide are used for slotted-head screws. The width of the bit should match the width and depth of the slot in the screw. A bit that is too narrow may damage the slot, while one that is too wide will not sit fully in the recess.
Hex bits
Internal hex bits in sizes H4–H8 for hex socket screws. The hexagonal profile transmits torque better than a straight slot. Used in furniture, electronic equipment and mechanical assemblies.
Phillips bits
Phillips bits PH1–PH3 for the most common type of screw in domestic and professional applications. Size PH2 is the standard for most general construction work. PH1 is used in electronics, PH3 in assemblies requiring higher torque.
Tool maintenance
The impact mechanism requires periodic lubrication with light machine oil. After working in damp conditions, dry the tool and protect it against corrosion. Magnetic bits should be cleaned of metal swarf, which can collect on the magnetic tips.
