A replacement lithium-ion battery for YATO cordless drills. Li-Ion technology means there is no memory effect, and the battery can be topped up at any time without affecting cell life.
Battery features
Lithium-ion technology
Li-Ion cells are free from the memory effect, which means the battery can be charged regardless of its state of discharge. Frequent top-up charging does not reduce capacity, which extends the battery's service life compared with Ni-Cd and Ni-MH technologies.
Thermal cell protection
A built-in overheat protection system monitors the battery's operating temperature. The protection cuts off charging or discharging if the safe temperature range is exceeded, which protects the cells from damage and extends their service life.
Charge level indicator
A four-stage LED indicator allows the battery's charge level to be checked on an ongoing basis. The remaining capacity can be checked at any time without fitting the battery in the tool, which makes it easier to plan work and swap batteries.
Compatibility with the YATO 14.4V system
The battery works with YATO drills marked YT-82853. Interchangeable batteries allow continuous working by using a second battery while the first one is charging, which increases efficiency on site.

14.4V is the standard voltage for lightweight cordless tools intended for assembly, installation and finishing work. This class offers a balance between power and the weight of the kit, which makes the tool suitable for both DIY and semi-professional use.
1.5Ah capacity
The 1.5Ah capacity (ampere-hours) defines the amount of energy stored in the battery. In practice, a battery of this capacity is enough to drive 150 to 250 screws (depending on the material and diameter), which corresponds to around 20-30 minutes of intensive work. The lower capacity means a lighter battery and better manoeuvrability of the tool.
No memory effect
Li-Ion technology eliminates the memory effect found in older battery types. The battery can be topped up at any time without a full discharge, which has no adverse effect on its usable capacity or service life. This makes the battery more convenient to use and more flexible in operation.
Use and maintenance
A lithium-ion battery requires basic operating rules to be followed. Storing the battery at temperatures between 10°C and 25°C extends cell life. During longer breaks in use, keeping the charge level at 40-60% is recommended, as this minimises chemical degradation of the cells.
Thermal protection prevents the battery from overheating during intensive work or charging at high temperatures. If the protection is triggered, wait until the battery has cooled down before continuing work or charging.
The LED indicator signals when the voltage drops below a safe level. Continuing to work with a flat battery can lead to deep discharge of the cells, which shortens their life. Once the last indicator stage lights up, the battery should be replaced or work stopped.
