The 20-inch size – who is it for?

Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that all the latches work and that the tray slides out smoothly. The plastic retains its properties at temperatures from -10°C to +50°C – outside this range it may become brittle or excessively flexible.
Clean the box with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Do not use organic solvents, acetone or petrol, as these may damage the structure of the plastic. After contact with water (for example when working in the rain), open the box and allow the interior to dry to prevent metal tools from corroding.
Check the latches regularly for cracks. Damaged latch components may fail to hold the lid closed during transport. If the box is difficult to close, do not use excessive force – the problem can often be solved by removing dirt from the mechanism.
When fitting a padlock, it is worth using a model with a weather cover, or lubricating the mechanism periodically to prevent it from seizing through corrosion. The padlock holes can also be used to thread a security cable through when the box is left in a vehicle.
