The KD318 hydraulic press is a workshop frame press designed for pressing, extracting and straightening metal components. The steel frame transmits a pressing force of up to 20 tonnes, generated manually with a pump handle operating the hydraulic ram.

Steel frame construction
The frame is made from structural steel and transmits the working loads without deflection. Frame rigidity has a direct influence on how accurately the workpiece is aligned with the piston — frame distortion during pressing generates lateral forces that can damage the guides or the workpiece.
Manual hydraulic operation with release valve
Pressure in the ram builds up gradually as the handle is pumped, allowing the pressing force to be applied in a controlled way. The piston is released by opening the valve on the ram — the piston then retracts under its own weight or by the return spring.
Adjustable work table
A working range of 0–1020 mm is the maximum distance between the table and the ram piston. The table is set at the required height before the operation — matching it to the dimensions of the workpiece shortens the working time and reduces the number of pump strokes needed to bring the ram into contact with the item.
48 mm piston rod and 190 mm stroke
A piston rod diameter of 48 mm provides sufficient rigidity at full extension. The 190 mm stroke is the usable range of piston travel in a single pumping cycle — enough for most bearing, pin and bush pressing operations without having to reposition the table.

Assembly and operation
The press is supplied in parts for self-assembly. Before first use, check the hydraulic oil level in the ram and make sure all frame bolts are tightened to the correct torque. The work table is positioned on pins or bolts in the frame holes — before pressing, verify that the supports are seated symmetrically on both sides. During operation, the workpiece should be centred on the axis of the piston. Asymmetric lateral loading can damage the ram guides. After completing the operation, open the release valve slowly, controlling the retraction of the piston.
Hydraulic ram maintenance
With regular use, check the hydraulic ram for leaks and inspect the condition of the piston rod seals every few months. A drop in pressing force or slow piston retraction with the valve closed may indicate internal leakage or a low oil level. Top up using hydraulic oil that meets the manufacturer's recommendations.
