Yato YT-85230 250W Electric Strimmer
Electric strimmer for cutting grass in hard-to-reach areas of the garden. Compact design weighing 1.3 kg, with a 250W motor and a TAP & GO automatic line feed system.
Features of the electric strimmer
250W electric motor
The 250W output at 230–240V ensures steady operation when cutting medium-density grass. The electric motor removes the need for refuelling and for the regular ignition-system servicing that petrol strimmers require. Because it runs on mains power, the working range is limited by the length of the extension lead.
TAP & GO system
An automatic line feed mechanism that works by tapping the trimmer head against the ground. When the line runs short, simply press the head lightly against the ground while the tool is running and the system feeds out the required length of line automatically. This removes the need to advance the line by hand while you work.
Compact dimensions and low weight
At 1.3 kg, with a compact build, the tool is easy to manoeuvre in confined spaces. Its low weight reduces strain on the hands and arms during longer sessions, which matters when clearing larger areas around obstacles in the garden.
Speed of 12,500 rpm

Use and maintenance
Replacing the strimmer line
Strimmer line of 1.2 mm diameter is the standard choice for low-power strimmers. Once the supplied line runs out (6 m included), buy line of the same diameter – using a thicker line can overload the 250W motor, while a thinner one will wear out too quickly. Wind the line onto the head spool in the direction shown by the arrows on the housing.
Extension lead
The 35 cm power cable requires an outdoor extension lead. For a 250W tool, an extension lead with a core cross-section of at least 1.5 mm² is recommended for lengths up to 25 m, or 2.5 mm² for lengths over 25 m. The extension lead should have an IP44 rating (protection against splashing water).
Maintenance after use
After cutting, clean grass and soil residues off the head. Check the condition of the cutting guard and remove any plant material wrapped around it if necessary. Regularly check the condition of the line and that it feeds evenly through the holes in the head. Store the tool in a dry room, protected from moisture.
