300mm Vernier Caliper YT-72004 YATO

An analogue stainless steel vernier caliper with a measuring range of 0-300 mm. A tool for precise external, internal, depth and height measurements in workshop and on-site conditions.

Accuracy±0.02 mm
Resolution0.02 mm
MaterialStainless steel

Technical features of the YATO vernier caliper

300 mm measuring range

The length of the beam allows objects of up to 300 mm to be measured. It enables the dimensions of medium and large mechanical components, profiles, bushes and machine tool parts to be checked. In the imperial system the range is 0-12 inches.

Accuracy ±0.02 mm

The maximum measurement error is 0.02 mm (0.001 inch). This parameter defines how far a measurement result may deviate from the actual value. This accuracy is sufficient for most workshop applications and for quality control in production.

Reading resolution 0.02 mm

The vernier scale allows readings to an accuracy of 0.02 mm. Resolution defines the smallest difference in dimensions that can be read on the scale. The vernier allows interpolation between the graduations of the main scale.

Stainless steel construction

The beam and jaws are made from corrosion-resistant steel. The material ensures durability in a workshop environment where cutting emulsions, oils and moisture are present. Stainless steel maintains dimensional stability over a wide temperature range.

Applications of the 300mm vernier caliper

  • Measuring the external diameters of shafts, pins and bushes up to 300 mm
  • Checking the internal dimensions of holes, grooves and bores
  • Measuring the depth of blind holes, grooves and recesses
  • Checking the height of components, protrusions and steps
  • Quality control in series production of mechanical components
  • Verifying dimensions after machining (turning, milling)
  • Measurements in car workshops - brake discs, drums, bushes
  • Checking dimensions in construction - profiles, pipes, structural components

Operating conditions and maintenance

Operating temperature range

The caliper operates at temperatures of 5-40°C. Outside this range the steel may exhibit thermal expansion that affects accuracy. Before measuring, the temperature of the tool and the workpiece should be equalised.

Moisture resistance

A relative humidity of up to 80% does not affect measurement accuracy. Stainless steel protects against corrosion in typical workshop conditions. After contact with cutting fluids, wiping down and protecting with oil is recommended.

Reading the measurement result

The result is read from the main scale (whole millimetres) and the vernier scale (hundredths of a millimetre). The vernier line that coincides with a line on the main scale indicates the second decimal place. The imperial system is read in the same way.
