Features of the YATO YT-8271 soldering iron

30W power for basic electronics

30W power allows you to solder copper wires and electronic components using THT (through-hole) technology. This rating is sufficient for working with typical solder joints in electronic circuits, where controlled temperature is required without overheating components.

3.8 mm coated copper tip

A copper tip with a protective coating offers better durability and resistance to oxidation than uncoated tips. The 3.8 mm diameter with a 1.0 mm point allows precise soldering of small components. A tip length of approximately 75 mm provides adequate reach during work.

Fast heating to 350°C

Reaching a working temperature of 350°C in around 3 minutes allows you to start work quickly. 350°C is the standard for soldering with leaded and lead-free solder, ensuring the correct solder flow when soldering electronic components.

Ergonomic two-component handle

The handle, approximately 130 mm long and made from a non-slip material, provides a stable grip during precise soldering work. The two-component construction thermally insulates the hand from the heated tip, improving user safety.

Applications of the 30W soldering iron

  • Soldering copper wires in low-voltage installations
  • Fitting and repair of THT electronic components on printed circuit boards
  • Service work on audio and video equipment
  • Soldering connections and connectors in electronic circuits
  • Electronic model-making and prototype building
  • Repair of small household appliances
  • Hobby work requiring metal parts to be joined
  • Soldering cables and wires in 12V vehicle installations

Use and maintenance

Preparation for use

Before first use, the tip must be tinned – apply a thin layer of solder to the working surface of the tip once it has reached its working temperature. This treatment protects the tip from oxidation and ensures better heat transfer. The soldering iron should be placed in a stand or holder during breaks in work.

Tip maintenance

After each use, clean any remaining solder and flux from the tip using a damp sponge. Regular cleaning prevents the build-up of contaminants that can reduce thermal conductivity. The tip should always be covered with a thin layer of solder during storage.

Replacing the tip

A tip socket depth of 50 mm and a maximum diameter of 4.0 mm allow the tip to be replaced with a compatible spare. Replacement is necessary when the tip becomes excessively worn or the protective coating is damaged. Before replacement, disconnect the soldering iron from the mains and wait for it to cool completely.
