Torx Tamperproof — how it differs from standard Torx
Torx Tamperproof bits (also marked as Torx Security or TR) have a hole in the centre of the profile which engages with the centre pin in the socket of a tamperproof screw. Screws of this type are used, among others, in games consoles, laptops, cars and devices where the manufacturer wants to make unauthorised disassembly more difficult. A standard Torx bit does not fit such screws.
