Tool compatibility
Before buying nails, check the nail gun's manual for the accepted collation angle and length range. The 34° standard is one of the most popular, but some tools require nails collated at 21° or 28°. Checking compatibility prevents damage to the tool and ensures safe operation.
Use and maintenance
Nails should be stored in dry rooms, protected from moisture, which can weaken the anti-corrosion protection. Before loading them into the nail gun magazine, check the condition of the collation tape – a damaged tape can cause jams.
When working with the nail gun, adjust the air pressure (for pneumatic tools) or the power setting to the thickness and hardness of the material being joined. Too high a pressure may puncture or damage the material; too low a pressure will leave the nail not fully driven in.
After work, clean the nail gun of dust and dirt, and store the remaining nails in the original packaging or an airtight container.
