VOREL 72630 4-Way Extension Lead 1.5m with Switch
An earthed office extension lead fitted with four Schuko sockets and a safety switch. The three-core VV-F cable with a 1 mm² cross-section and 1.5-metre length provides basic protection and flexibility when positioning electrical equipment.
Technical features
Four earthed sockets
Schuko sockets with a PE earth pin allow Class I appliances to be connected safely. The earth connection carries any fault voltage away to the protective installation, reducing the risk of electric shock if equipment fails.
Safety switch
A switch mounted on the housing lets you cut the power to all sockets with a single movement. This is useful when appliances are left in standby mode – it eliminates standby power consumption and reduces the risk associated with atmospheric surges.
VV-F cable 3x1 mm²
A three-core cable with PVC insulation (VV-F) and a 1 mm² cross-section is the standard for lightly loaded office extension leads. The 1 mm² cross-section limits the permissible power to around 2300 W – enough for IT equipment, lighting and small domestic appliances, but not enough for heaters or workshop power tools.
1.5-metre length
The compact cable length works well in offices, at desks and in places where the wall socket is a short distance from the workstation. A shorter cable means lower voltage drop and less space taken up by coiled cable.

Power limit
The 1 mm² cable cross-section limits the maximum load to around 10 A (2300 W at 230 V). Do not connect heating appliances, high-power power tools or domestic appliances exceeding this threshold at the same time. Exceeding the permissible load causes the cable to heat up and increases the risk of insulation damage.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check the condition of the cable and plug – there should be no cracks in the insulation, deformation of the housing or signs of overheating. Connect the extension lead directly to a wall socket, avoiding daisy-chaining it with other extension leads – this increases the risk of overload and degrades the quality of the power supply.
It is worth using the switch every day after finishing work – it cuts the power to appliances in standby mode, which reduces energy consumption and protects equipment from the effects of storms. Lay the cable out loosely, without sharp bends and without winding it onto reels while in use.
It is worth checking the temperature of the socket housing periodically during use – if it is noticeably warm, this indicates excessive load or a poor plug connection. In that case, reduce the number of connected appliances or check the condition of the contacts.
Safety in damp rooms
This office extension lead has no IP rating, which rules out use in bathrooms, laundry rooms, garages and other places exposed to moisture. Such conditions require extension leads with a sealed housing and protection against water splashes.
