Wheel brace for changing car wheels, made from #45 carbon steel. Four universal socket sizes in a single tool allow work on most common wheel bolts in passenger cars and vans.
A material with a carbon content of approximately 0.45% combines mechanical strength with flexibility. The hardened surface increases resistance to abrasion and corrosion, extending tool life under intensive workshop use.
The 17 mm, 19 mm and 21 mm sizes cover the most common wheel bolts in passenger cars from European and Asian manufacturers. The 1/2" drive allows use with a torque wrench or ratchet when tightening to a controlled torque.
The arrangement of four arms at 90° enables efficient transmission of rotational force and allows work in the limited space around the wheel. The length of the arms provides sufficient leverage to loosen seized or over-tightened bolts without excessive effort.
The range of sizes matches the standards used in most passenger cars from makes such as Volkswagen, Opel, Ford, Renault, Toyota and Hyundai. The 1/2" drive is the standard for professional air and power tools.

Before use, verify the wheel bolt size in the vehicle documentation or by measuring. The most common sizes are 17 mm (small city cars), 19 mm (compact and mid-size segment) and 21 mm (larger cars and SUVs). The wrong socket size will damage the bolt edges.
The 1/2" drive allows a torque wrench to be connected for final tightening of the bolts to the torque recommended by the manufacturer (typically 110-120 Nm for passenger cars). Initial loosening is carried out with the wheel brace, and final tightening with a torque wrench in a cross pattern.
After each use, clean the sockets of brake dust and dirt. Periodic lubrication of the 1/2" drive prevents corrosion and ensures smooth operation with a ratchet. Storage in a dry place extends the life of the hardened surface.
When working with the wheel brace, protective gloves are recommended to protect the hands from injury, along with safety glasses when working with rusty bolts. A stable stance when loosening prevents injury if a bolt suddenly gives way.
