A compact 1/4" drive socket set made from chrome vanadium steel. It comprises a 72-tooth ratchet, a full range of metric sockets, six types of screwdriver bits and drive accessories — all organised in a rigid carry case.
A 72-tooth mechanism gives a working angle of 5°, which allows work in areas with limited swing — for example when assembling parts in an engine bay or inside tightly fitted furniture. Its 150 mm length provides sufficient torque without the need for extensions on standard fasteners.
The chromium and vanadium alloy increases the hardness of the tool after hardening while maintaining resistance to brittle cracking. This translates into a longer service life of the working edges of the sockets and bits compared with carbon steel, particularly when repeatedly tightening fasteners at higher torque.
The flexible extension (145 mm), combined with the universal joint, allows work at an angle — essential for screws set in recesses or behind structural obstructions. It removes the need to dismantle housing components simply to gain straight access to a fastener.
The spinner handle (150 mm) works like a standard screwdriver with an interchangeable bit — useful for screws that require precision rather than high torque. The sliding T-bar (115 mm) allows torque to be increased by changing the grip point along the shaft, without the need for a torque wrench.

A 1/4" drive is intended for fasteners with low to medium tightening torque — typically up to around 30–40 Nm. It performs well with M3–M10 screws in light mechanics, electronics and vehicles. For larger fasteners (M12 and above) or high torque, sets with a 3/8" or 1/2" drive should be used.
Before use, check that the socket size matches the screw or nut head — excessive play between socket and head leads to slipping and damage to the fastener edges. After finishing work, clean oil and dirt off the set components and return them to their designated places in the case — this makes it easier to check that the set is complete and prevents contact corrosion between tools.
The ratchet should be lubricated periodically — a few drops of machine oil into the ratchet mechanism through the inspection hole (if accessible) or through the drive socket. The flexible extension should be stored straight or with a gentle bend — avoiding repeated bending at a sharp angle extends its service life.
