Spanner types in the set
Combination spanners (24 pcs)
The most commonly used type of spanner. The open end is used for initial tightening and quick movement, while the ring end is used for final tightening to torque. The set covers sizes from 6 to 32 mm with the full range in between.
TORX ring spanners (4 pcs)
Double-ended spanners with TORX star profiles, used in modern automotive and electronic designs. The star profile reduces the risk of damaging the bolt head compared with a hexagon.
Offset ring spanners (8 pcs)
The rings are set at 15° to the shaft. The offset allows work in areas with limited access and enables rapid tightening by flipping the spanner over without removing it from the bolt.
C-type ring spanners (5 pcs)
Spanners with a slotted ring that combine the advantages of an open-ended and a ring spanner. They can be fitted onto a bolt from the side, which is useful when working with cables or pipes passing through the bolt.
Half-open ring spanners (6 pcs)
Compact double-ended spanners with partly open rings. The design allows work in very restricted spaces where a standard spanner will not fit or cannot be turned.
Use and maintenance
Before first use, check that the set is complete against the specification. Spanners should be matched exactly to the size of the nut — play leads to rounded corners and damage to the tool.
When working, pull the spanner towards you rather than pushing it — this gives better control and reduces the risk of injury if the bolt suddenly loosens. For seized joints, apply a penetrating oil and wait a few minutes before attempting to undo them.
After use, clean the spanners of dirt and oil marks with a dry cloth. Do not wash the spanners in pressure washers or immerse them in water for prolonged periods. Storing them in the pouch protects against moisture and mechanical damage.
In high-humidity environments, periodically protect the surfaces with a thin film of engineering oil or an anti-corrosion preparation. Do not use the spanners as levers or hammers, and do not extend them with pipes — this leads to permanent distortion or cracking.
