A diamond core drill bit designed for dry drilling in ceramic materials. The M14 thread allows it to be mounted directly on angle grinders without the need for additional adaptors.
The standard M14 thread allows the core drill bit to be mounted directly on an angle grinder. This removes the need for drill arbors and adaptors, which shortens setup time and improves stability while drilling.
The design of the core drill bit allows it to be used without water cooling. This method is practical where access to water is limited or where the work area has to be kept dry. It does, however, require the debris to be cleared from the bit regularly.
The height of the diamond layer determines the service life of the core drill bit. A 10 mm coating provides adequate durability when drilling ceramic materials with a hardness of up to 8 on the Mohs scale, typical of porcelain stoneware and clinker.
A size suitable for drilling holes for basin and shower mixer taps, as well as for electrical back boxes and other installations that require precise cut-outs in ceramic tiles.

Before starting to drill, check that the M14 thread is clean and shows no signs of wear. Screw the core drill bit onto the grinder spindle by hand, then tighten it with a spanner. Make sure the bit is mounted securely – a loose fit leads to vibration and an uneven cut.
Start drilling at an angle of about 45 degrees to prevent the bit from slipping on the smooth tile surface. Once a groove has been established, gradually straighten the tool to the vertical position. Apply moderate pressure – excessive force causes overheating and premature wear of the diamond coating. Every 10-15 seconds withdraw the bit and clear the debris from inside the core.
Clearing ceramic dust from inside the core drill bit regularly is essential for efficient dry drilling. Accumulated debris hinders heat dissipation and reduces cutting efficiency. Compressed air or a brush is best, used after each withdrawal of the bit from the hole.
For a 50 mm diameter, the recommended speed is 4,000-6,000 rpm. Too high a speed causes overheating; too low a speed results in inefficient cutting. Most angle grinders with variable speed allow the working parameters to be adjusted precisely.
