A recoil air hose made from polyurethane (PU) with an internal diameter of 5.5 mm and an external diameter of 8 mm. Fitted with 1/4" quick-release couplings that make connecting air tools easier. The recoil design allows compact storage while providing a 10-metre working length.
Polyurethane offers flexibility across a wide temperature range and resistance to abrasion. Compared with PVC, it remains flexible at low temperatures, which allows work in unheated rooms and outdoors. The material resists mineral oils and most solvents used in workshops.
This parameter defines the maximum safe pressure during continuous operation. A value of 12 bar (approx. 174 psi) covers the requirements of most workshop air tools, which operate at 6-8 bar. The pressure margin ensures safety and a long service life for the hose.
The 1/4" standard is the most common size in workshop pneumatics. The quick-release couplings allow tools to be connected and disconnected without the need for tools, and an automatic valve shuts off the air supply once disconnected. Check compatibility with your compressor – most workshop compressors are fitted with 1/4" outlets.
The coiled form of the hose means it retracts automatically once work is finished, which reduces the storage space required. At rest, the hose occupies approx. 1-1.5 m, and when extended it reaches its full 10 m working length. The design prevents tangling and the mechanical damage that occurs during storage.

An internal diameter of 5.5 mm is suitable for workshop applications with low to medium air demand. For high-consumption tools (angle grinders, demolition hammers), hoses with an internal diameter of at least 8-10 mm are recommended to avoid drops in pressure and performance.
Before first use, blow the hose through with compressed air to remove any contamination left over from the manufacturing process. During operation, avoid exceeding the maximum working pressure and exposing the hose to sharp edges, which can damage the polyurethane coating.
Polyurethane is resistant to temperatures from -20°C to +60°C. Outside this range, the material may lose its flexibility or become permanently deformed. After use, it is advisable to depressurise the hose and store it somewhere protected from direct sunlight, which accelerates ageing of the material.
The quick-release couplings require periodic cleaning to remove dust and moisture. A build-up of contamination in the locking mechanism can make it difficult to connect properly and cause leaks. When working in a dusty environment, fitting air filters at the compressor outlet is recommended.
