A six-piece set for drilling holes in hard building materials: ceramic tiles, stoneware, and natural and artificial stone. It comprises five diamond core drill bits in a range of diameters plus an adapter, supplied in a lockable carry case.
The cutting edge of the core bits is made from sintered diamond segments, which cut through very hard materials — porcelain stoneware, terracotta, stone and glazed tiles — without chipping the edge of the hole.
The diameters supplied are 6, 8, 10, 35 and 68 mm. The small core bits (6–10 mm) are used to run electrical and plumbing services through tiles. The 35 mm core bit fits standard back boxes, while the 68 mm one suits shower drains and larger service penetrations.
The adapter supplied allows the core bits to be fitted in standard drill chucks. Before use, check that the drill can be set to rotary-only mode — hammer action damages the diamond segments and shortens tool life.
The components are stored in a moulded case with a handle and clip latches. A dedicated slot for each tool prevents damage in transit and makes it easy to check that the set is complete once the job is finished.
Diamond core bits require water cooling while drilling. Dry drilling is possible only over very short distances and at low speed, but it significantly shortens the life of the segments. For drilling into vertical walls, use water-fed cooling rings or take regular breaks to let the tool cool down.

Diamond core bits are designed for rotary-only drilling. The drill should have variable speed control — the recommended speed is around 1,500–2,000 rpm for the small diameters (6–10 mm) and around 500–900 rpm for the larger ones (35–68 mm). Running at too high a speed without cooling overheats the bond and wears the segments prematurely.
After use, clean any material residue off the core bits and dry them before returning them to the case. Storage in a damp environment can corrode the shank.
