6m Chimney Rod – Model G66732
A 6-metre spring steel rod with an M12 female thread, designed for use with flue brushes and chimney brushes. The tool is intended for the mechanical cleaning of chimney flues to remove soot deposits and other contamination.
Technical features
Spring steel
The material returns to its original shape after deformation. It provides the flexibility needed to negotiate bends in chimney flues and resists repeated flexing during use.
6-metre length
This length matches the typical height of chimney flues in single-family houses and low-rise blocks of flats. In most domestic applications it allows chimneys to be swept without joining additional sections.
M12 female thread
A standard fitting that allows flue brushes and chimney brushes with an M12 male thread to be attached. It provides a secure connection between the cleaning tool and the rod during use.
Wire construction

Accessory compatibility
The rod is compatible with all chimney brushes and flue brushes fitted with an M12 male thread. Before purchase, check the thread type of your existing cleaning tools – M12 and M10 threads are not compatible with one another unless the appropriate adapters are used.
Use and maintenance
During use, the rod should be fed into the chimney flue with a twisting and advancing motion. This allows bends to be negotiated more easily and soot deposits to be removed more effectively by the brush fitted to the rod. After use, clean the wire of soot and protect it against corrosion by wiping it with a dry cloth.
Spring steel retains its properties when used correctly. Avoid bending the wire sharply at acute angles or twisting it excessively, as this can lead to permanent deformation or breakage of the material. Storing the tool in a dry place extends its service life by limiting corrosion.
Determining the required length
The length of the rod should match the height of the chimney flue measured from the entry point to the terminal at roof level, with an allowance of about 0.5–1 metre. For chimneys taller than 6 metres, a longer rod or a system of joined sections is required.
