A set of specialist RIBE bits with a 1/2" adaptor, designed for work on multi-spline screws. Made from S2 tool steel, it offers durability when working on fasteners that require high torque.
A multi-spline system used mainly in the automotive industry, particularly on German vehicles. It distributes torque better than standard profiles, which minimises the risk of damaging the screw when high tightening forces are applied.
A material with a hardness of 58-62 HRC and resistance to twisting. S2 steel contains added silicon and chromium, which increases its mechanical strength and wear resistance during intensive workshop use.
Enables use with 1/2 inch ratchets and torque wrenches. The 10 mm hexagonal shank holds the bit securely and eliminates play when transmitting torque.
The standard bit length provides access to screws in typical assembly locations. Sufficient for most applications in engine, gearbox and other mechanical component repairs.

RIBE is a multi-spline system (usually 8 or 12 ribs) used mainly by German manufacturers (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen Group). Unlike Torx or hex profiles, RIBE has rounded ribs, which increases the contact area and allows higher torques to be transmitted with less risk of damaging the screw. This system requires dedicated tools – standard hex or Torx keys do not fit RIBE screws.
Before use, check that the bit size matches the screw – the wrong choice can damage the profile. RIBE bits must be fully seated in the screw – shallow insertion causes stress concentration and accelerated wear.
After use, clean the bits of dirt and oil. S2 steel is resistant to corrosion, but prolonged storage in a damp environment can lead to surface rust. The set should be stored in a dry place, ideally in its original packaging or a tool organiser.
With intensive use, it is worth checking the condition of the bit ribs periodically – worn or damaged edges can slip in the screw and damage its profile. In the event of deformation or cracking, the bit should be replaced.
