The KD10067 PTO drive shaft transmits mechanical power between a power source and a driven machine. Its universal-jointed design allows operation with misalignment between the drive axis and the machine axis, which is a typical situation in agricultural implements and garden machinery.
Universal (Cardan) joints at both ends of the shaft allow torque to be transmitted at an angle between the shafts. In practice, this means a machine can be connected even when its input shaft is not perfectly aligned with the tractor's power take-off or the drive motor.
Hardening the steel increases the surface hardness of the torque-transmitting components, which translates into greater wear resistance at the joint contact surfaces and greater strength of the shaft tube under torque overloads.
The 90 cm length matches the typical distance between the power take-off and the machine gearbox in light and medium-duty agricultural implements. Before purchase, measure the actual distance between the mounting points in the working position.
The shaft is fitted with a safety guard that covers the rotating components. The guard reduces the risk of accidental contact with moving parts and protects the joints from contamination that would accelerate wear.

The KD10067 PTO drive shaft is used wherever rotational drive needs to be transmitted mechanically over a distance of 90 cm with possible angular misalignment between the shafts:
Measure the distance between the tractor PTO flange (or the motor drive output) and the machine gearbox input in the working position — allowing for the working angle of the implement. It is also essential to check the spline count and profile (most commonly 6 or 21 splines in the 1 3/8" agricultural standard) and the machine's maximum torque, in order to select a shaft of suitable strength.
Correct operation of the drive shaft requires regular greasing of the universal joints with bearing grease (EP2 lithium grease) via the grease nipples — a recommended interval of every 8–10 hours of operation or before each season. Before starting the drive, make sure the shaft guard is complete and in working order. The shaft should be operated within the deflection angles recommended by the manufacturer — running at the maximum angle for extended periods accelerates joint wear. After the season, clean, grease and store the shaft in a dry place.
