A 150 mm adjustable spanner in forged chrome vanadium steel, compliant with the DIN 3117 standard. Designed for mechanical, plumbing and assembly work, it features a precision jaw adjustment mechanism and an ergonomic handle.
The material combines high mechanical strength with resistance to wear. Forging increases the density of the metal structure, which translates into greater durability of the jaws and the adjustment mechanism under heavy use.
The maximum jaw opening determines the range of nuts and bolts the spanner can handle. A capacity of 19.3 mm corresponds to fasteners from M6 to M12, which covers most typical workshop and household applications.
The compact dimensions provide access to components in confined working spaces while retaining sufficient leverage for typical tightening torques. This length represents a compromise between manoeuvrability and applied force.
The rubber coating increases the coefficient of friction between hand and tool, which reduces the risk of it slipping during work with oil or other substances. The coating material also absorbs some of the vibration generated during tightening.

The DIN 3117 standard sets out the requirements for the dimensions, manufacturing tolerances and strength of adjustable spanners. Compliance with this standard guarantees that the tool has been manufactured in accordance with European quality and safety standards. Spanners conforming to DIN 3117 undergo load tests that verify the resistance of the adjustment mechanism and jaws to deformation.
The adjustment mechanism of an adjustable spanner requires periodic lubrication, particularly under heavy use in dusty conditions or in contact with water. Machine oil or lithium grease should be applied to the worm screw and the sliding surfaces of the mechanism.
Check the play in the adjustment mechanism before each use – excessive play can cause the spanner to slip off the fastener. Adjustment is carried out by tightening the screw that secures the mechanism, usually accessible from the handle end.
The spanner should be matched to the size of the nut or bolt – too small a jaw opening causes the jaws to splay excessively and risks damage. The maximum opening of 19.3 mm is the limit at which a safe contact area between the jaws and the fastener is still maintained.
Before starting work, set the spanner jaws to a width slightly smaller than the size of the nut, then bring the spanner up to the fastener and tighten the adjustment mechanism until it grips securely. A correctly matched spanner should cover at least 75% of the nut height, ensuring a stable grip with no risk of slipping.
