The 250 mm adjustable spanner is an adjustable hand tool designed for tightening and loosening nuts and fittings of various sizes. The VOREL 54072 features an ergonomic plastic handle and an adjusting mechanism for setting the jaw opening.
The drop-forging process increases the strength of the material by compacting the metal's grain structure. Carbon steel resists deformation when torque is applied, which matters when working with heavily tightened fasteners.
The nickel layer protects the surface against corrosion and reduces friction when adjusting the jaw opening. Nickel plating makes the tool easier to keep clean and prevents the adjusting mechanism from seizing.
The ergonomic handle increases the grip area and reduces pressure on the hand when force is applied. The plastic provides thermal insulation, which matters when working in low temperatures or when the tool comes into contact with hot components.
The adjustment range allows work on nuts and bolt heads from around 10 mm to 29 mm. The adjusting mechanism allows quick size changes without having to switch tools during assembly work.

Set the jaws of the adjustable spanner so that they sit flush against all the flat faces of the nut. Setting them too loosely wears the corners of the nut and causes the tool to slip. Adjust using the adjusting screw in the head of the spanner – turning it clockwise increases the jaw opening, anticlockwise decreases it.
An adjustable spanner transmits torque through the fixed jaw, so when tightening, position the tool so that the force is applied to the jaw fixed permanently to the body. The movable jaw serves as the holding jaw. Incorrect positioning can damage the adjusting mechanism.
Periodically clean the adjusting screw and the guides of the movable jaw and apply a thin layer of machine oil. Dirty guides cause the mechanism to seize and make precise adjustment difficult. The oil layer protects against corrosion and reduces wear on moving parts.
Adjustable spanners are not designed for very high torques – in such cases use ring or socket spanners of the correct size. The adjusting mechanism introduces play between the jaws, which under heavy loads can damage the nut or the tool itself.
