A twin-cylinder compressor pump with a Type Z configuration and air cooling, designed for use with 50-150 litre receivers. The oil-lubricated unit with cast-iron cylinders delivers an effective output of 250 l/min at a maximum working pressure of 8 bar.
Technical characteristics
Twin-cylinder Type Z design
The V arrangement of the cylinders provides better balance and reduces vibration during operation. Cast-iron cylinders are more resistant to wear and dissipate heat better than their aluminium counterparts.
Air cooling system
The side-mounted air cooler, together with the pulley acting as an additional fan, effectively dissipates heat from the cylinders. The design prevents overheating during prolonged continuous operation.
250 l/min effective delivery
Effective delivery is the actual volume of compressed air available at the outlet after losses. A figure of 250 l/min against a maximum delivery of 400 l/min represents a volumetric efficiency of around 62%, which is typical for pumps of this type.
Oil lubrication
An oil lubrication system requires regular level checks and oil changes, but delivers a longer service life for the moving parts and better cooling than oil-free pumps. Suitable for workshop and industrial applications.

Selecting the motor and receiver
The pump requires a 2.2 kW (3 HP) electric motor with a matching pulley. A recommended receiver capacity of 50-150 litres provides the optimum balance between start/stop frequency and available compressed air. Receivers smaller than 50 L will cause excessively frequent running cycles, while receivers larger than 150 L will extend the filling time.
Operation and maintenance
Before starting, fill the crankcase with compressor oil in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Check the oil level through the sight glass before every start. Change the oil every 500 operating hours or once a year.
The intake air filter should be cleaned every 50 operating hours in dusty conditions and every 100 hours in standard conditions. Check the V-belt tension monthly – a correctly tensioned belt should deflect by 10-15 mm when pressed with a finger at the mid-point between the pulleys.
The air cooler requires periodic cleaning to remove dust with compressed air. Blocked cooler fins can cause the pump to overheat and shorten the service life of the gaskets.
