The 1/2" drive air impact wrench is a workshop tool designed for undoing and tightening bolts and nuts using compressed air. The VOREL 81100 delivers a maximum torque of 310 Nm, making it suitable for medium- and high-torque fastenings.
This parameter defines the maximum turning force the wrench can generate. A value of 310 Nm is enough to undo the wheel bolts on cars and light vans, as well as most fastenings encountered in vehicle mechanics. It is sufficient for working with M12-M18 nuts at standard tightening torques.
The 12.7 mm (1/2") square output anvil, the standard fitting on mid-range air tools. Compatible with 1/2" impact sockets from 10 mm to 32 mm. It provides a secure connection and efficient transfer of torque to the socket.
A 6.35 mm (1/4") air coupling for connecting the compressed air hose. The 1/4" standard is the most common size in workshop air systems operating at 6-8 bar. It allows tools to be changed quickly without undoing threaded connections.
An air hammer assembly that produces a series of short rotational impulses instead of continuous torque. The impact mechanism reduces the recoil felt by the operator and makes it possible to undo seized fastenings that cannot be loosened with a non-impact wrench.

Air impact wrenches with a torque of 310 Nm require a compressor delivering at least 200-250 l/min at a working pressure of 6-8 bar. The hose bore should be at least 10 mm (3/8") and its length should not exceed 10 metres to avoid pressure drops. A filter-regulator with lubricator is recommended for cleaning and lubricating the compressed air.
Before starting work, check the air pressure in the system – it should be within the 6-8 bar range. Too low a pressure reduces the effective torque, while too high a pressure can damage the internal mechanism. Impact sockets should be pushed fully onto the anvil and secured with a retaining ring or retaining ball.
During use, hold the wrench square to the axis of the bolt and avoid working at an angle, which can damage the socket or the fastening. When tightening, the torque should be checked with a torque wrench, as air wrenches do not provide precise control of the tightening force.
The wrench mechanism needs daily lubrication with air tool oil – 3-5 drops before starting work. The oil can be applied directly through the air inlet, or an automatic lubricator can be used in the compressed air line. Check the impact hammer and trigger mechanism periodically for wear. Any condensation forming in the system should be drained from the filter-regulator regularly.
