Aluminium blind rivets for joining thin materials by single-sided riveting. The set contains 50 aluminium alloy rivets measuring 6.4 x 3.2 mm, designed for use with a hand or pneumatic rivet gun.
The aluminium alloy provides a low unit weight and natural resistance to atmospheric corrosion. In most environments, aluminium rivets require no additional anti-corrosion protection, making them a versatile choice for indoor and outdoor work.
The 6.4 mm length and 3.2 mm mandrel diameter determine the thickness of the materials being joined. This rivet size is intended for joining thin sheet metal, plastics and composites with a total thickness of up to 4–5 mm. The 3.2 mm diameter requires a drilled hole of 3.3–3.4 mm.
A blind rivet consists of a cylindrical sleeve and a break mandrel. During riveting, the rivet gun draws the mandrel through, expanding the sleeve on the blind side. Once the correct tension is reached, the mandrel snaps at the break notch, leaving a permanent joint.
The set contains 50 rivets in a single pack. This quantity is sufficient for typical assembly and repair work in a home or professional workshop. The rivets are supplied loose or in a container for easier storage.

The drilled hole should be 0.1–0.2 mm larger than the mandrel diameter of the rivet. For 3.2 mm rivets, the recommended drill bit diameter is 3.3–3.4 mm. A hole that is too tight makes it difficult to insert the rivet, while one that is too loose weakens the strength of the joint. Drilling is carried out perpendicular to the surface of the parts being joined.
Aluminium blind rivets 6.4 x 3.2 mm require a hand or pneumatic rivet gun with a nose piece suitable for 3.2 mm diameter. The riveting process consists of the following stages:
Hole preparation – drilling holes of 3.3–3.4 mm in both parts being joined while keeping them aligned. Removing burrs and swarf from the hole edges prevents damage to the rivet sleeve.
Inserting the rivet – placing the rivet into the hole from the face side of the material. The rivet head should sit flat against the surface. The mandrel protrudes on the opposite side, where the rivet gun will act.
Riveting – fitting the rivet gun nose piece over the protruding mandrel and squeezing the handles repeatedly until the mandrel breaks. A characteristic sound signals that the process is complete. The broken mandrel falls out of the rivet gun or remains inside it.
Checking the joint – testing the fixing by attempting to separate the parts. A correctly set rivet leaves no play between the joined surfaces.
Rivets with a 3.2 mm diameter work with standard hand rivet guns fitted with a set of interchangeable nose pieces. Before starting work, check that the rivet gun has a nose piece suitable for this rivet size. Pneumatic rivet guns increase productivity where large numbers of joints are required.
