Use and maintenance
Preparation before use
Before starting work, check the condition of the blades — damaged or bent edges reduce the effectiveness of the tool. It is advisable to lightly dampen the material to be removed, which makes it easier to detach from the substrate, particularly in the case of old plaster and mortar.
Working technique
The scraper should be held at an angle of 30-45 degrees to the surface, applying even pressure. When removing thicker layers of material, work in several passes rather than forcing the tool, which protects both the blades and the substrate from damage.
Tool maintenance
After finishing work, remove any material residue from the blades and the body. The aluminium body does not require anti-corrosion protection, whereas the steel blades should be protected periodically with a thin layer of oil if the tool is not going to be used for a longer period.
