ATS for KD154 Generator (model KD154-ATS)
The Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) module is designed for use with the KD154 generating set. The unit monitors the mains supply and, in the event of a failure, automatically initiates the generator starting sequence; once the output voltage has stabilised, it transfers the load to the generator supply — with no need for operator intervention.
Module features
Automatic starting with pre-heat function
After detecting a mains failure, the module starts the generator according to a programmed sequence. If a pre-heat time is configured, the unit activates the engine heater before the actual start — this is particularly important at low ambient temperatures, where a cold start increases mechanical wear.
Load transfer once voltage has stabilised
The module does not transfer the load immediately after the engine starts — it waits for confirmation that the generator output voltage has reached its normal value. This prevents loads from being supplied with unstable voltage while the generating set is running up to speed.
Support for single-phase and three-phase systems
The AC output handles both single-phase 220 V and three-phase 380 V supplies, allowing the module to be used in a range of electrical installation configurations — from residential buildings to industrial sites.
Built-in alarm and protection system
The unit generates alarms for a failed start, loss of generator output voltage, engine oil pressure failure and an unplanned engine shutdown. Each of these events is signalled separately, which makes fault diagnosis easier.
Active protection functions
The KD154-ATS module provides the following protection functions: generator frequency protection, engine oil pressure protection, engine start failure protection, unplanned engine shutdown alarm and loss of generator output voltage alarm. The insulation strength is AC 1.5 kV / 1 min at 1 mA.

Compatibility and installation
The KD154-ATS module is dedicated to the KD154 generating set. Before installation, check that the DC supply voltage (8.0–18 V) is compatible with the generator installation and make sure that the relay circuits (DC 12 V / 2 A) are correctly matched to the actuators being controlled. The IP41 rating means protection against the ingress of solid objects larger than 1 mm and against vertically dripping water — the module is not intended for installation where it is directly exposed to rain or pressurised water.
