YATO YT-90102 Garden Hose on Automatic Reel – 40 Metres
Wall-mounted automatic reel with a 1/2" garden hose, 40 metres long. A permanent installation system fitted with an automatic rewind mechanism with length lock and a protective housing.
Technical features of the hose reel
Automatic rewind system
The spring mechanism lets you pull the hose out smoothly to any length and rewinds it automatically once the lock is released. It removes the need for manual winding and prevents kinks and tangles that shorten the life of the hose.
40-metre working reach
The 40-metre length covers an area of up to 1250 m² for spot watering. It is enough to irrigate large domestic gardens without moving the connection point. The 2 m leader hose gives you freedom in positioning the reel relative to the water source.
Wall mounting with protective housing
Designed for permanent mounting on a building wall, fence or post. The housing, made from PP and ABS, protects the mechanism against weather conditions and mechanical damage. Once rewound, the hose is fully concealed inside the drum, which shields it from UV radiation and frost.
Thermal resistance from -10°C to +50°C
The construction materials (PVC, POM, ABS) retain their flexibility and strength across a temperature range of -10°C to +50°C. This allows use in spring and autumn without the risk of damaging the hose. At temperatures below -10°C, the system should be drained of water and the hose rewound.

Installation and use
Installation requirements
The reel must be mounted on a stable surface – a brick or concrete wall, or a timber structure at least 10 cm thick. Mounting height: 150-200 cm above ground level ensures convenient hose extraction. The distance from the water source should not exceed 2 m (the length of the leader hose). Check that the wall can withstand a static load of approx. 15 kg plus the weight of the water in the hose.
Connecting to the water supply
The kit includes adaptors for 1/2" and 3/4" taps – standard sizes in domestic plumbing. Before connecting, check the diameter of the threaded tap outlet. The operating pressure should not exceed 4 bar – at higher pressure, fitting a pressure reducer is recommended. Excessive pressure shortens the life of the hose and seals.
Hose length lock
Once the hose has been pulled out to the required distance, a gentle tug activates the locking mechanism. The hose stays in that position until another light tug releases the lock and starts the automatic rewind. The spring mechanism ensures even winding without the need to guide the hose.
Maintenance and storage
Before the winter season, drain the hose of water – disconnect it from the source, pull it out to its full length and let the water run out. Rewind the empty hose and leave it in the housing. The reel mechanism does not require lubrication. Check the condition of the seals in the connectors once a season and replace them if worn. The housing needs no maintenance beyond an occasional wipe to remove dust.
Compatibility with garden accessories
The 1/2" hose works with standard garden accessories fitted with 1/2" quick connectors. You can connect:
- Spray guns with adjustable water flow
- Rotary and pulsating sprinklers
- Telescopic lances for cleaning at height
- Rotary brushes for cleaning surfaces
