The KD4402 is an automatic yoghurt maker from KRAFT&DELE that can make up to 1440 ml of homemade yoghurt in a single cycle. The appliance features microprocessor control with an LCD display, a PTC heating system and precise control of fermentation temperature and time, which delivers consistent results regardless of the type of bacterial culture used.
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) heating elements have self-regulating resistance — as their temperature rises, their electrical resistance increases, which limits power draw and prevents overheating. In practice, this means a stable fermentation temperature with no fluctuations, which is crucial for proper growth of bacterial cultures.
The electronic panel allows temperature (20–55°C) and operating time (1–48 h) to be set independently, with readings shown on the LCD display. The wide parameter range makes it possible to ferment not only natural yoghurt but also products that require different temperatures, such as kefir or certain curd cheeses.
Glass containers are more resistant to absorbing odours and discolouring than plastic alternatives, and they are also easier to sterilise before use. A capacity of 180 ml is a typical single-serving portion of yoghurt. The individual lids allow the finished product to be stored directly in the jars.
The transparent lid lets you visually check the yoghurt during fermentation without interrupting the process — every time the appliance is opened, heat is lost and fermentation may be disrupted. An audible signal indicates when the cycle has finished, so there is no need to monitor the time manually.

Standard natural yoghurt ferments at 40–45°C for 6–12 hours — the longer the time, the more sour the taste. Kefir requires a lower temperature (around 20–25°C) and a longer fermentation time. Plant milks often require the addition of a thickener (e.g. starch) and may ferment at slightly higher temperatures. The 20–55°C range available on the KD4402 covers the operating parameters of most yoghurt and kefir starters on the market.
