A universal axe with a wooden handle, designed for chopping and splitting wood. The 1000 g head is made from high-carbon steel and delivers sufficient striking force while keeping the blade durable.
The head is made from high-carbon steel and undergoes a hardening and tempering process. Hardening increases the hardness of the blade, which means the edge stays sharp for longer. Tempering reduces the brittleness of the material, so the blade does not crack when it strikes hard knots.
The 1 kg head provides enough kinetic energy to split medium-sized logs effectively. This is a universal weight – heavy enough for effective work, yet not causing excessive fatigue during longer use.
The wooden handle is shaped for ergonomics and provides natural shock absorption on impact. At 18 inches (455 mm), this is the standard length for universal axes, allowing you to work in a standing position without excessive bending.
The supplied rubber guard protects the blade during storage and transport. It prevents accidental cuts and protects the cutting edge from mechanical damage that could occur through contact with other tools.

High-carbon steel makes sharpening easy with a file or whetstone. The recommended sharpening angle is 25-30 degrees. Regular sharpening reduces the force needed to cut through wood fibres and extends the service life of the tool.
The wooden handle needs to be treated periodically with linseed oil or a wood treatment product. This prevents it from drying out and cracking and stops the head from working loose. Check that the head is secure before first use – tighten the wedge or soak the handle in water if necessary.
Check that the head is securely fixed to the handle before every use. A loose head can fly off during a swing and is a hazard. Always use the blade guard during transport and storage. Keep a stable stance when chopping and make sure no one else is within the swing radius.
