Use and maintenance
First use
Charge the battery fully before first use. The first 3-5 charge cycles may not reach full capacity – this is normal and results from the cell formation process.
A lithium-ion battery does not need to be fully discharged before charging. It can be charged at any time without adversely affecting its service life. Regular full discharges are not necessary and may even shorten battery life.
The battery should be stored at a temperature of 5-25°C with a charge level of 40-60%. Avoid storing a fully charged battery for extended periods or leaving it completely discharged. The operating temperature is usually between 0°C and 40°C.
Signs of battery wear
A drop in cutting power, shorter run times or rapid discharge may indicate natural cell wear. The service life of a Li-Ion battery is typically 300-500 charge cycles, after which capacity falls to around 80% of its nominal value.
Do not leave a discharged battery for extended periods. Deep discharge below the minimum voltage can cause irreversible cell damage and require the battery to be replaced.
