The KD10597 is a negative battery terminal with a built-in isolator switch, designed for 12V and 24V systems. It lets you disconnect the vehicle's electrical circuit completely with a single turn of the knob, which eliminates standby current drain from electrical consumers and protects the battery from gradual discharge.
The isolator knob lets you break the circuit quickly without tools. A useful solution when the vehicle is left standing for long periods, when working on the electrical system, or in an emergency where the power supply has to be cut immediately.
The 125 A rating matches the typical load on a car's electrical system during normal operation. The 500 A peak current covers the surge demand at engine start-up, when very high currents flow through the starting system for a short time.
The isolator is fitted in place of a standard negative terminal. This method of connection complies with electrical safety principles — disconnecting the earth before the positive terminal minimises the risk of a short circuit during servicing work.
The product supports both the 12V systems used in passenger cars and the 24V systems typical of lorries, buses and working machines. Check the system voltage in the vehicle documentation before installation.

1. Disconnect the original negative terminal from the negative battery post.
2. Fit the KD10597 isolator switch onto the negative post and tighten it as recommended by the manufacturer.
3. Connect the removed negative terminal to the dedicated clamp on the isolator.
4. Check that the connections are secure — loose terminals cause contact resistance and can lead to sparking.
Before installation, make sure the vehicle's system voltage (12V or 24V) is within the operating range of the device.
