A bi-metal hole saw designed for drilling holes in metal, stainless steel, aluminium and plastics. A construction combining HSS high-speed steel with flexible spring steel ensures durability and resistance to mechanical damage during intensive use.
A body made from spring steel absorbs stress and vibration during drilling, while the HSS M3 high-speed steel cutting edges stay sharp even when working in hard materials. Combining these materials eliminates the risk of cracking and premature tooth wear.
The 114 mm size meets standard electrical installation requirements, including the fitting of 100 mm diameter back boxes with clearance for accurate seating. A hole saw of this diameter is also used for ventilation components and service penetrations.
The hole saw handles drilling in structural steel, stainless steel, aluminium, non-ferrous metals, plastics and wood. The tooth geometry ensures efficient swarf clearance, which prevents jamming and overheating of the tool.
The hole saw works with standard drill chucks and M42 threaded adapters. Before fitting, check the type of adapter you have – most bi-metal hole saws require a separate arbor with pilot drill, sold separately.
| Model | YT-3349 |

| Construction material | Bi-metal (HSS M3 + spring steel) |
| High-speed steel type | HSS M3 |
| Intended use | Metal, stainless steel, aluminium, plastics, wood |
When drilling metal, a speed of 300-600 rpm is recommended for structural steel and 800-1200 rpm for aluminium and plastics. Excessively high speeds overheat the cutting edges and cause the HSS to lose hardness. The use of coolant or cutting oil is recommended when drilling stainless steel.
When using the hole saw, wear safety goggles and work gloves, and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. The hole saw produces sharp metal swarf that can injure the eyes and skin. Do not touch the hole saw immediately after drilling because of the high temperature.
After use, clean swarf and material residue from the hole saw and protect it with a thin coat of anti-corrosion oil. Regular sharpening of the teeth extends tool life – this service is offered by specialist tool sharpening workshops. Storing in a dry place prevents corrosion of the spring steel.
