A bypass-type garden cutting tool designed for cutting branches up to 44 mm in diameter. Fitted with a high-carbon SK5 steel blade with a PTFE coating and a shock-absorption system.
High-carbon SK5 steel has a hardness of 60-62 HRC, which ensures resistance to chipping and keeps the cutting edge sharp for longer. This material is used in tools that need to withstand mechanical loads while maintaining cutting precision.
The PTFE layer on the upper blade reduces friction between the tool surface and the material being cut. It prevents plant sap and resin from sticking, which makes cleaning after use easier and reduces resistance when cutting damp wood.
A flexible cushioning element in the closing mechanism absorbs the impact energy when the blades close. This reduces the load on the wrist and elbow joints during intensive work, particularly when cutting harder types of wood.
The 78 cm handles provide mechanical leverage that makes cutting larger-diameter branches easier and less tiring. This length lets you work from ground level on branches up to around 2.5 metres high, removing the need for ladders in many applications.

The maximum cutting diameter of 44 mm refers to fresh wood of medium hardness. With dry wood or very hard species (e.g. acacia, hornbeam), the actual effective cutting diameter may be 20-30% smaller. Before starting work, check that the branch diameter is within the tool's capability.
After finishing work, clean plant sap and wood residue off the blades. The PTFE coating can be cleaned with a damp cloth without abrasive agents. Regularly oiling the pivot mechanism extends the tool's service life and keeps the handles moving smoothly. The blades can be sharpened with a diamond file or whetstone, maintaining the original sharpening angle of around 20-25 degrees.
When cutting larger-diameter branches, position the tool at right angles to the axis of the branch. Make the cut in one decisive movement, avoiding repeated clamping in the same place, which could crush the plant tissue. The anti-shock system requires the handles to be fully squeezed until they meet the cushion.
