A connecting component for pneumatic systems with a 1/2-inch external thread. Made from brass, it provides a durable, leak-tight connection in compressed air installations.
The GZ designation denotes a male tapered thread to the PN standard. The 1/2" size refers to nominal diameter DN15 (approximately 21 mm outside diameter). The male thread is screwed into a female threaded component (GW), creating a connection that seals on the taper.

A 1/2" thread (DN15) is a medium size used in installations with flow rates of 300-800 l/min. Before assembly, check that it matches the female thread in the equipment – a GZ tapered thread requires a matching GW thread or an adaptor. Sealing takes place on the taper; PTFE tape or a thread sealant is recommended.
Before screwing in the plug, clean the thread of any dirt and apply a sealant (PTFE tape or paste). Tighten it with an open-ended spanner, pressing the component until it seals – typically 2-3 turns after the tapers make contact. Do not exceed the maximum tightening torque, as this may damage the thread.
During operation, check the connections for leaks at regular intervals, particularly after temperature changes or vibration. Brass can suffer stress corrosion cracking on contact with ammonia – in such environments, stainless steel components are recommended.
