Chainsaw Guide Bar 16" .325" YATO YT-849351

A 16-inch (40 cm) guide bar made from Mn65 manganese steel, designed for petrol and electric chainsaws. Fitted with a roller-bearing sprocket nose and a lubrication system with an oil reservoir.

Length16" (40 cm)
Chain pitch.325"
Gauge0.058" (1.5 mm)
MaterialMn65 manganese steel

Guide Bar Features

Mn65 Manganese Steel

The high-manganese material provides increased hardness and wear resistance. The bar maintains its groove geometry over a longer service life, which translates into stable chain guidance and reduced wear on the drive links.

Sprocket Nose with Bearing

The drive sprocket at the tip of the bar, fitted with a roller bearing, reduces friction as the chain rotates. This solution minimises mechanical resistance, lowers the operating temperature and reduces energy consumption during cutting.

Guide Bar Lubrication System

The built-in oil reservoir with lubrication channels delivers lubricant directly to the guide bar groove. Continuous lubrication reduces friction between the chain and the bar, dissipates heat and extends the service life of the entire cutting system.

16-Inch Working Length

The 40-centimetre bar is a versatile size for home and garden work. It allows timber of up to around 35 cm in diameter to be cut in a single pass, while maintaining good manoeuvrability and control of the tool.

How to Check Guide Bar Compatibility with Your Chainsaw

Before buying, verify three parameters: the guide bar length (16"), the chain pitch (.325") and the gauge (1.5 mm). These values must match the specification of your chainsaw and chain. Also check the type of mounting that secures the bar to the chainsaw body – the number and arrangement of the mounting holes and the shape of the chain tensioner slot must match the design of your chainsaw.

Applications of the 16-Inch Guide Bar

  • Pruning branches up to 30 cm in diameter
  • Felling trees with a trunk circumference of up to 100 cm
  • Preparing firewood from logs and branches
  • Tidying work in orchards and domestic gardens
  • Cutting back shrubs and self-seeded trees with thicker trunks
  • Cutting structural and construction timber
  • Forestry work during thinning and undergrowth clearing
  • Preparing material for fencing and timber structures

Guide Bar Maintenance

Regular maintenance of the guide bar extends its service life and ensures safe operation. After each use, clean the guide bar groove of contaminants – sawdust, resin and clumped oil residue. Checking the condition of the lubrication hole and the patency of the oil channels prevents the chain from overheating.

The guide bar groove wears unevenly over time. Periodically flipping the bar (top to bottom) evens out the wear and extends its service life. Checking the condition of the sprocket at the nose of the bar allows bearing damage or worn teeth to be detected before a more serious failure occurs.

Check the chain tension regularly – a chain that is too loose increases guide bar wear and creates a safety hazard, while one that is too tight causes overheating and accelerated wear of the entire system. A correctly tensioned chain, when pulled at the middle of the guide bar, should lift about 3–5 mm away from it.
