The K200 chimney brush is a tool designed for the mechanical cleaning of chimney flues, removing soot, tar and other combustion deposits. Its steel wire construction ensures effective removal of contaminants while maintaining the durability of the tool.
Steel wire is resistant to abrasion when in contact with contaminants and the inner walls of the chimney. The material retains the resilience needed to reach the uneven surfaces of the flue.
The standard M12 metric thread allows the brush to be connected to the chimney rods and wires available on the market. The thread provides a secure fixing during use and allows the assembly to be extended according to the height of the chimney.
This additional structural element allows a chimney sweeping ball to be attached, which makes it easier to feed the brush into the flue from above. The ball provides the necessary weight and direction of movement when cleaning by the gravity method.
The K200 symbol defines the type of brush within the chimney sweeping tool classification system. The designation allows the diameter and purpose of the tool to be identified when selecting it for a particular chimney flue.

Before starting cleaning, check the condition of the M12 thread and that the connection to the chimney rod or wire is secure. If a chimney sweeping ball is used, make sure the mounting eye is free from damage. The length of the assembly should be adjusted to the height of the chimney flue by connecting the appropriate number of sections.
The brush can be used with the top-down method (from the roof) using a chimney sweeping ball, or with the bottom-up method using flexible rods. The movement of the brush should be even, with slight pressure against the flue walls. During cleaning, the chimney outlet in the room should be covered to prevent soot from escaping.
After use, the brush should be cleaned of any remaining soot and tar. The steel wire can be washed with water and a degreasing agent. Before storage, the tool should be completely dry to prevent corrosion. The M12 thread should be greased periodically with technical grease to keep the connections working properly.
Building regulations recommend cleaning chimney flues at least once a year before the heating season. Where solid fuel stoves are used intensively, cleaning every 3-6 months may be necessary. The frequency depends on the type of fuel, combustion efficiency and the length of the chimney flue.
