The circular wire brush with shank is a tool designed for mechanical cleaning, rust and paint removal, and preparing metal surfaces. Fitted with crimped wire, it works more aggressively than brushes with straight wire, which means hard contaminants and coatings are removed more effectively.
Crimped wire has an irregular, wavy structure that increases the contact area with the material being cleaned. As a result, the brush removes hard rust, welding scale and old paint coatings more effectively than straight wire. The crimped structure also penetrates surface irregularities better.
A disc diameter of 100 mm is a universal size for workshop and renovation work. It provides a suitable working area for cleaning medium and large surfaces while still allowing work in areas with limited access. A disc of this diameter works with most angle grinders and electric drills.
The mounting shank allows the brush to be fitted in a drill chuck or a die grinder collet. This method of mounting ensures stability during work and even distribution of forces, which improves cleaning accuracy and extends tool life. The shank removes the need for additional adapters.
The crimped wire circular brush is used in metalworking, restoration of metal components, and surface preparation before welding or painting. It is suitable for removing hard contaminants that require more intensive mechanical action than brushes with synthetic bristles or straight wire.

Before fitting, check that the shank diameter matches the tool chuck. Circular brushes require the correct rotational speed - too high a speed can lead to premature wire wear or the wire being torn out, while too low a speed reduces cleaning efficiency. Recommended rotational speeds are usually in the range of 4000-8000 rpm, depending on the type of material being cleaned.
When working with a circular brush, personal protective equipment must be worn: safety glasses or a face shield, work gloves and protective clothing. Crimped wire can release small fragments during intensive work, so a dust mask is also recommended. Make sure the workpiece is securely clamped and the working area is clear of bystanders.
After finishing work, clean the brush of any remaining removed contaminants. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion of the wire, which could affect cleaning efficiency. Regular checks of the wire condition allow early detection of wear and replacement of the brush before it loses performance.
