Duct tape is a backing reinforced with textile fibres, coated with a hot-melt adhesive based on synthetic rubber. The product is designed for fastening, packing, protecting and temporary repairs in conditions that demand high adhesive strength and mechanical resistance.
The cotton-polyester fibre backing, coated with polyethylene, resists tearing both across and along the tape. The fibre structure allows the tape to be torn by hand without tools while maintaining its tensile strength.
The synthetic rubber adhesive layer, applied by the hot-melt method, guarantees immediate adhesion to most surfaces, including rough and slightly dusty ones. The adhesive remains flexible over a wide temperature range.
A width of 38 mm is the standard for workshop and packaging applications. This dimension provides a sufficient bonding surface while remaining convenient to apply to edges, cartons and structural components of various sizes.
A length of 50 metres on a single roll is enough to pack a dozen or so medium-sized cartons or for repeated use in repair work. The format strikes a balance between performance and ease of storage and transport.

Before applying the tape, the surface should be dry and free from excess dust and grease. Duct tape will adhere to slightly dusty substrates, but optimum adhesion requires at least basic cleaning. The application temperature should be between +5°C and +40°C.
Apply the tape with light pressure, unrolling it gradually from the roll. Avoid over-stretching the backing, as this can weaken the fibre structure. When applying to corners or edges, leave a 2-3 mm margin from the edge to ensure full adhesion.
When removing the tape from delicate surfaces, peel it off at a sharp angle, pulling in a direction parallel to the surface. Adhesive residue can be removed with isopropyl alcohol-based cleaners or special solvents for acrylic adhesives. Do not use sharp tools that could damage the substrate.
