CO2/Argon Regulator 200 bar GEKO G80033

Pressure regulator designed for cylinders containing carbon dioxide, argon and welding gas mixtures. It allows the working pressure to be controlled between 0 and 5 bar, with an inlet pressure of up to 230 bar.

Inlet pressure230 bar
Outlet pressure0-5 bar
Flow rate24 l/min
Inlet threadW21.8×1/14

Features

Dual gauge system

Two pressure gauges with rubber protective covers — one shows the cylinder pressure (0-315 bar) and the other the working pressure at the outlet (0-5 bar). The rubber covers protect the gauges from mechanical damage during transport and use.

Multi-gas compatibility

Compatible with CO2, argon and welding gas mixtures (e.g. Ar+CO2). The W21.8×1/14 inlet thread is the European standard for cylinders containing these gases — it is worth checking the thread type on your cylinder before purchase.

Working pressure adjustment

The adjusting knob allows the outlet pressure to be set between 0 and 5 bar. This range meets the requirements of most MIG/MAG welders and TIG sets, where the typical working pressure is 1-3 bar.

Flow rate 24 l/min

A flow rate of 24 litres per minute is sufficient for semi-automatic welding sets with a current of up to around 200 A. Welding heavier materials or using higher currents may require a regulator with a higher flow rate.

Applications

  • MIG/MAG (Metal Inert Gas/Metal Active Gas) welding with CO2 or Ar+CO2 mixtures
  • TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding with argon as the shielding gas
  • Welding aluminium and stainless steel with argon shielding
  • Welding structural steel with CO2 or welding gas mixture shielding
  • Plasma cutting requiring a shielding gas
  • Mechanical, metalworking and fabrication workshops
  • Manufacturing plants with welding departments

Selection and installation

Checking compatibility

Before purchase, check the thread type on your cylinder — W21.8×1/14 is the standard for CO2 and argon in Europe, but older or imported cylinders may have different threads. The 6.3 mm outlet spigot fits standard welding hoses — use an adaptor if necessary.

Setting the working pressure

The working pressure depends on the welding method and the material thickness. For MIG/MAG welding of steel it is typically 1.5-2.5 bar, and for TIG welding of aluminium 2-3 bar. Too low a pressure causes an unstable arc, while too high a pressure causes spatter and wastes gas. Settings should be adjusted in accordance with the welding machine manufacturer's recommendations.

Use and maintenance

After each use, close the cylinder valve and release the pressure from the regulator by turning the adjusting knob. This protects the pressure-reducing diaphragm from constant load, which extends the service life of the unit.

The gauges require periodic accuracy checks — deviations of more than 10% from the actual value indicate that calibration or replacement is required. The rubber covers should be checked regularly for cracks.

The regulator does not require lubrication. If gas leaks at the inlet connection, replace the washer (plastic or copper, depending on the cylinder type). Do not overtighten the connections — this will damage the threads.
