Twist drill bit made from HSS M35 high-speed steel with a 5% cobalt content, designed for drilling structural steel, stainless steel and cast iron. The three-stage ground point lets you start drilling without centre punching.
The 5% cobalt content increases the hardness and heat resistance of the steel. The drill bit keeps a sharp cutting edge at temperatures of up to 600°C, which allows it to run at higher spindle speeds without losing its cutting properties.
The 125° point, precision-ground in three stages, is self-centring. It removes the need for centre punching beforehand, which shortens working time and reduces the risk of the hole wandering.
Precision-machined flutes ensure efficient chip evacuation from the hole. This reduces drilling resistance and the risk of the tool jamming, particularly in deep holes.
Standard dimensions and manufacturing tolerances guarantee repeatable hole diameters and compatibility with drill chucks from all manufacturers (cylindrical shanks).

| Application | Drilling in metals |
For S235-S355 structural steel, the recommended spindle speed is 1200-1500 rpm at a feed rate of 0.08-0.12 mm/rev. For stainless steels, reduce the speed by 30-40% and use emulsion coolant. When drilling dry, frequent breaks are needed to let the tool cool down.
After each use, clean the flutes of chips and debris. The drill bit can be sharpened with a drill bit sharpener while maintaining the 125° point angle and the symmetry of the cutting edges. Incorrect sharpening leads to out-of-round holes and increased tool wear.
