YATO YT-1940 Combination Pliers 160 mm CRV
160 mm combination pliers made from chrome vanadium steel (CRV). A tool designed for gripping, cutting wire and bending materials in the workshop, during assembly and installation work.
Features of the combination pliers
Chrome vanadium steel CRV
CRV steel is characterised by greater hardness and wear resistance than ordinary tool steel. The chromium content improves corrosion resistance, while vanadium increases the mechanical strength of the jaws. This translates into a longer service life for the cutting edges and a lower risk of tool damage under intensive use.
160 mm working length
The 160 mm size represents a compromise between leverage and precision. Pliers of this length deliver sufficient torque for cutting wire up to 2 mm in diameter and allow work in confined spaces. Being smaller than the standard 180-200 mm, they are more comfortable during prolonged work requiring precision.
Three-colour ergonomic handles
The plastic handles in three colours improve safety at work by clearly identifying the tool and enhance grip ergonomics. Their contoured shape reduces hand fatigue during repetitive tasks. The handle material provides basic electrical insulation, although it does not constitute full protection against electric shock.
Versatile function
The pliers combine three basic functions: gripping flat and round components thanks to the ribbed jaws, cutting soft and medium-hard wire with the blades at the pivot, and bending wire and thin sheet metal. They eliminate the need for three separate tools during typical assembly work.

Use and maintenance
Correct use
Combination pliers are intended for cutting soft and medium-hard materials. They must not be used for cutting hardened steel or steel wire over 2 mm in diameter, nor as a lever for undoing fasteners. Exceeding the permitted load leads to chipping of the blades or fracture of the jaws at the pivot.
Tool maintenance
After use, clean the pliers of any dirt and dry them. The pivot requires periodic lubrication with machine oil or lithium grease. Storing in a dry place prevents surface corrosion. The cutting blades can be sharpened periodically with a diamond file, maintaining the original sharpening angle.
