11 mm YATO YT-5005 Combination Spanner with 15° Offset

A combination spanner that combines an open end and a ring end in an 11 mm size. The 15° offset design allows work in restricted assembly spaces, where standard straight spanners have limited access to fasteners.

Spanner size11 mm
Offset angle15°
MaterialCrV steel
ModelYT-5005

Technical characteristics of the combination spanner

15° offset – access in restricted spaces

Shifting the axis by 15° relative to the handle allows work in places where a standard straight spanner fouls the surrounding components. The offset design increases clearance over obstructions, making it possible to turn a nut or bolt in narrow assembly spaces.

Chrome vanadium steel (CrV)

CrV material is characterised by increased hardness and wear resistance. The chromium-vanadium alloy provides corrosion resistance and reduces the risk of jaw deformation under load, which extends the service life of the tool in workshop conditions.

Open end and ring end in one tool

Combining two jaw types eliminates the need to change tools during work. The open end allows quick positioning on the fastener, while the ring end provides full contact with the nut, minimising the risk of damaging the edges.

11 mm size – universal application

An 11 mm spanner corresponds to M7 nuts and bolts, used in hydraulic and electrical installations and in automotive mechanics. This size is standard in many assembly applications, making the tool an essential part of any workshop kit.

Applications of the 11 mm combination spanner

  • Assembly and disassembly of M7 bolted connections in hydraulic installations
  • Service work in automotive mechanics – suspension component mountings
  • Electrical installations – mounting rails, terminal strips
  • Maintenance and repair of domestic appliances
  • Assembly work in the construction industry – metal fasteners, brackets
  • Bicycle servicing – brake system components, derailleurs
  • Furniture and metal structure assembly
  • Work in mechanical workshops – removal of covers, engine cowlings

How do I check that the spanner fits the fastener?

An 11 mm spanner fits nuts and bolt heads with an 11 mm spanner size (usually metric M7 fasteners). Before starting work, check that the jaws grip the fastener without play – play can damage the edges of the nut. For worn or deformed fasteners, a ratchet socket wrench is recommended.

Use and maintenance

A combination spanner with an offset requires correct matching to the torque. When tightening connections, apply force evenly along the length of the handle, avoiding sudden jerks that could damage the tool or the fastener.

After use, clean the spanner of dirt, oil and moisture. Storing it in a dry place prevents corrosion of the chrome-plated surface. Regular maintenance includes checking the jaws for signs of wear and inspecting for cracks in the material at load points.

15° offset versus 75° offset – differences in application

Spanners with a 15° offset retain a geometry close to straight, which gives better torque control for standard assembly work. Spanners with a larger offset (75°) are used in extremely confined spaces, where the handle must be shifted as far as possible from the axis of the fastener. The choice depends on the nature of the work – a 15° offset is the universal solution for most workshop applications.
