The 6 mm combination spanner is a double-ended workshop tool that combines the function of an open-end and a ring spanner in a single body. The VOREL 51060 is made from carbon steel with the ring end offset at an angle of 15 degrees, providing access to fasteners in confined working spaces.
The open end allows work in areas with very limited access, where a full turn of the tool is not possible. The ring end provides a better grip on the nut and distributes the tightening force evenly across all edges of the fastener, minimising the risk of damage.
A ring end offset of 15 degrees improves ergonomics when working on fasteners fitted in deep recesses or where obstacles prevent the spanner from being positioned perpendicular. It allows work using the flip technique with only a small turning angle.
The material provides the working hardness needed to transmit torque without permanent deformation. Carbon steel offers good wear resistance while remaining ductile enough to prevent cracking under load.
The spanner is designed for fasteners with an across-flats dimension of 6 mm. This size corresponds to the small screws and nuts used in precision engineering, consumer electronics, minor domestic appliance repairs and the assembly of fittings.

The spanner must fit the fastener precisely. A clearance greater than 0.1-0.2 mm leads to wear on the edges of the nut and rounding of its profile. Before starting work, check that the tool fits the screw or nut.
Force should be applied towards the ring end of the spanner, not the open end. This prevents the tool from slipping and damaging the fastener. With small spanners, controlled application of force is particularly important.
After use, clean the spanner of contamination and protect it against corrosion with a thin film of oil. The tool should be stored in a dry place. Regularly checking the condition of the jaws allows excessive wear to be detected before the fasteners sustain damage.
When working with hand tools, work gloves should be worn to protect against mechanical injury, along with safety goggles where there is a risk of flying particles. When tightening fasteners under load, maintain a stable body position.
